About this webinar:

What is sensitivity and how does it manifest in certain children? How does sensitivity play a part in neurodiversity?

Understanding and recognizing sensitivity is key when parenting or working with a sensitive child. If misunderstood, these children are at risk for behavioural problems and failure to mature. Yet these children can offer so many gifts to the world.

Some children have one diagnosis (or more), or have no diagnosis but may be emotionally sensitive or affected deeply by sensory input. We will discuss varying degrees and types of sensitivity and how to cope with the challenges sensitivity brings.

Through years of study and personal experience, we will help make sense of the sensitive child. We will share our own challenges as parents of sensitive children and discuss what the adult’s role is in helping the sensitive child to mature and realize their developmental potential.

Within this webinar, we will cover:

- Signs of sensitivity in children and teens and it’s many manifestations

- Reasons for sensitivity

- How neurodiversity and sensitivity
are related

-Why sensitive children can be challenging to raise

- Important recommendations for parents or caregivers of sensitive children

- How to soften the brain’s defences that may be erected to protect the child
 from overwhelm or wounding

- Considerations to avoid when problems or challenging behaviours occur

- Offer stories and examples of parenting at home or working with children in a classroom or group setting

This workshop is suitable for people raising or working with children from toddlerhood to adulthood.

The webinar is for ADULTS ONLY.

“Your talk was both poignant and hopeful. You invited feelings of guilt and thus made room for the possibility of starting on the long journey toward softening the defences. What a nourishing presentation!”
